Biography
The African American Fine Art Society is an organization engaged in highlighting
various artists and their works of art, and introducing them to the community. The two major productions of the Art Society is 1.) The Annual Fine Art Awards Presentation; 2.) The Fine Art Historic Art Shows And Auctions, also this 2010 year the production of the book Profiles and Visions of African American Fine Art because a lot of the information is not available to the public. We hope to be able to level the playing field when it comes to artist. We recognize all types of artist, but when it comes to fine artist and their work, it is something that should not be taken for granted. For instance, the work of fine art, jewelry creations, pottery, furniture, painting, and much more. These are some of the main products that we now look forward to having a major award presentation on a yearly basis. The African American Fine Art Society believes that these events should be documented to a another level. However, when it comes to most African American artist, it is only after their death that one work takes center stage.
The statistics show that the African American spending power is approx. 750 billion dollars, but only 4 billion is spend on African American art, which is less then one percent. It is not about race or color it is about consciousness. The time has come to take what is not their and put it their. . We look to the recognition and help to expose, and enlighten the public to another level of art awareness. The Awards Presentation is a yearly event and has 25 Artist who has recived the awards that one day the world will look forward to, because of the artist that we have had the pleasure of introducing, the winners from one year picks the artist for the next year. The time has come to bring to the world the Awards Presentation of African American Fine Art Society. The African American Fine Art Society has been highlighted by several media outlets, that include Camden On The Move, Comcast News-makers, and more recently, the Philadelphia Tribune 100 year old paper in Philadelphia PA.
